This past weekend, I had the great opportunity to have a photo session with the beautiful Annie Kennedy. She is a senior in high school with a great head on her shoulders. She loves her horses Romeo and Howdy, and she is an award winning equestrian! When she asked if I would take some senior photographs of her with her beautiful horses, I grabbed the chance by the reins so to say!
I started the day off by driving to the horse stables with Annie so that I could scout the location of the photo session. I really loved what I saw! The area had some great areas: a nice pond, beautiful fences, an old rusted starting gate, and beautiful trees with their fall leaves in the background. I knew this would be a great situation.
Annie first wanted some photographs with her competition horse Romeo.
Of course, she didn't want to leave out her other horse Howdy. I really like this portrait because of all the great elements in the photograph: a beautiful smiling girl, a strong horse, a body of water, great foreground elements, and the colorful trees in the background.
Annie then bravely changed clothes into a beautiful blue dress. I say that Annie was brave because my lighting assistant and wife Amy and I had jackets on to keep us warm in the cold, windy weather. Way to go, Annie!
Here Annie is showing off her side saddle skills.
I've got to thank Annie's riding instruction Stephanie and her son for all of the help that they provided with the horses during this successful photography experience. Thank you!
After finishing the photographs with Annie and the horses, I was able to take some photographs of Annie by herself.
Thank you again, Annie, for letting me have this chance to photograph your Senior Session!
Here is a video that I produced that I showed Annie the next day when she selected her favorite photographs. She really liked the video and I hope you will, too.
